Join In On Play Day Saturday, Aug. 28, On Social Media To Uplift The Role Of Sports & Play For Kids
This movement launches across Southern California by the LA84 Foundation and the Play Equity Fund with our partners and friends, to create a collective, fun experience that builds community around healthy activity, which is critically important as we emerge from COVID-19 and kids return to school.
We invite you to join us in any way you can, whether on a walk with your family, jumping rope, at the park, playing hopscotch, taking tennis lessons, or in a pickup game of basketball. We request you take time on Saturday, Aug. 28th to celebrate the importance of being active and healthy with kids. You can join us by capturing images or video of this fun and sharing it socially with the hashtags #PlayDay21 and #PlayEquityMovement.
The focus of Play Day is to center the essential role that sports, play and movement have in childhood development and community well-being. It will be a day when kids, families, youth sports and play organizations that support healthy activity are celebrated.
We ask you join us on Saturday, August 28, by posting on your Instagram, Twitter and/or Facebook, photos of your organization, or your family and kids at play – whether on a court, field, in the water, on wheels, in a rink or backyard – showing youth celebrating the fun of playing, of sports or participating in sports programs. So we can share these images and posts with our audiences on Saturday, Auguest 28, please tag us at @LA84Foundation or @PlayEquityFund with these hashtags:
#PlayDay21 #PlayEquityMovement
Our aim is for Play Day to evolve into a national annual event that uplifts youth-serving organizations, schools and communities – and shows how we all must support the fun of childhood through play and sports to help build more promising futures. And together, how we create opportunities for all kids.
